Your Eyes are the Window to your Health – Optomap
We are excited to introduce our advanced technology for retinal examination. Our new retinal imaging system significantly surpasses traditional methods, capturing over 80% of your retina in a single panoramic image. In contrast, conventional techniques, where our optician views the retina through the pupil, only show 10-15% at a time.
This wide-ranging view significantly improves our optician’s ability to spot early signs of diseases on the retina, something that was previously not possible.
Additionally, this technology provides us with a digital record of your retina, allowing for accurate comparisons during each of your vision check-ups.
Children, too, stand to benefit greatly from this technology. The Optomap system was developed by Leif Anderson after his 5-year-old son suffered blindness in one eye due to a retinal detachment. Despite regular eye exams, the early signs of detachment were missed by traditional examination methods.
